Advent Devotion Day 4: Personal Encounter

Jesus loved the woman at the well who'd been searching for fulfillment in all the wrong places. He loved Peter who denied Him three times. He loved the woman caught in adultery and Zacchaeus the despised tax collector. Jesus has a pattern: He meets broken people right where they are and loves them into transformation. Like John, who went from being a "son of thunder" to "the one Jesus loved," encountering Christ's love changes our identity. You don't have to clean yourself up first. You don't have to earn His attention. Jesus is calling you down from whatever tree you're hiding in, saying, "Let's have dinner together." What would change in your life if you truly believed you are the one Jesus loves?
